Carb Clean Solvent??

About to attempt my first carb clean and wondering what kind of solvent you use to soak and clean the parts? The Clymer's Manual does not recommend standard carb-cleaner, but does recommend a petroleum based solvent. Got any rec's on a petroleum based solvent for cleaning my carbs?

I use Berryman's Chem Dip for submerging parts. And then fallow up with a couple of cans of NAPA brand carb cleaner.

When I do mine.. I have a gallon of GUNK carb cleaner that works great... it even has a basket to submerge the smaller parts.

Just pulled mine today, Gunk seems to work well and i love the little basket

Wow, life got in the way so sorry for the delayed response. I ended up going with Berryman's chem dip which also has a dip basket because of the reviews on Amazon between GUNK and this product, Berryman won out. Thanks so much for the response. And not to crack her open!!!
