Thanks Ruger, probably cost me a fortune to get one to N.Ireland! Like the size and shape though
Just had a look at your link, the one in it doesn't curve around the headlamp the same as in the photos, unless they've updated it or somthing! Thanks anyway.

no. it doesn't curve around the head light. I wish it did. those Kawasaki wind shields, like the one in the photo, cost a lot too. they ain't cheap!

Found this, it's the one, look at the postage same price as the windshield! Then I'd get hit with a load of import duty!

Yep...that be the Kawasaki V force windscreen. This and the original touring package fairing were the only windscreens sold for the bike by Kawasaki.

Many had issues with buffeting with that windscreen, but most of the aftermarket ones weren't much better. I had a Memphis Shades "Hellcat" which too was very similar to the "V Force" ....

To each their own of course, but I've always wondered why have a windshield that doesn't do much wind shielding? Is it an aesthetic thing?

Thanks guys,I have the same one on mine. Problem is the tinting on the back is fading off. I tried to polish it,made it worse, maybe it came with the bike91.I got it from the original owner.. Then I saw the post where someone refinished his. I dont know if I'm that ambitious as most of the time I look over the top, anyway.Nice to know what I have so I can look for one, didn't know they cost so much, wow!!

Yea knifemaker, somthing along them lines, don't fancy anything large, just want to deflect the wind away from the chest, I find that anything over 60mph I'm having to lean into it and pull forward on the bars, I have a fly screen on my 1200Vmax and it seems just enough to deflect it, possibly somthing similar for the Vn may do the trick, I would think that on a long trip it would be very tiresome at 60-80mph!

Not so much the cost Paulywog, it would be nice to be able to walk into a shop and pay £100-£130 for a screen but to double that with postage and then import duty ffs! You should be looking just over the top anyway I think. I'd like somthing just to deflect wind just over my helmet, a fly screen my do the job if it was the right shape, I don't want anything too large or will cause buffeting either!

it works, it keeps the wind off your chest and face, but it needs to be set at your chin or nose height so you don't get it in the face
yes only porn stars like to get it in the face

You want the large street shield and then, LOWERS, make your own lowers. Holy COW, totally removed the buffeting I was getting right at the top of my helmet and the bike is steady as a ROCK, at high speeds. an AMAZING difference.

Because they still cut the air blasting you in the chest...(the widest part of your body) depending on the angle and height, they can still cut some of the wind to your head. They can actually increase your fuel mileage because they can make the bike abit more aerodynamic.
I have a similar "small" screen on my Triumph, without it at 75-80 mph it feels like you'd get blown off the bike if you weren't holding onto the bars. That rush of air can also cause you more fatigue on longer rides, and can increase wind noise.
So no, it's not just for looks.
