Anyone - particularly the emergency personnel on the Forum - know if Whelen motorcycle lightbars are available for us non-EMS folks? I was in Baltimore recently, and a motorcycle cop had a three-light, white, LED bar on his Hardley. Said the draw was on the order of 3 amps (!!).

I went to the Whelen website and was overwhelmed with images of "flashing strobes," "siren coordination," and whatever else. But...just a simple lightbar would be fabulous if available to the public.

Cindy - I googled the subject (waking up for yet another 14 hour shift) and it appears that there are some things that whelen sells to the "public". I wasn't finding any lightbars persay - but there was a LED snowplow light that looked interesting...

One thing to keep in mind is that whelen's prices appear to be pretty crazy high.

Was the lightbar the type that fit behind the fairing or fit down below?

I bet that if ya called the right people (baltimore PD purchasing?) and got the right person ya might even be able to get a part number...

Very intrigued.. though that may be the lack of sleep ;-)
