I LOVE my bike! Having said that .. its a 94 and pushing 25 yrs old .. but did I say I love this bike. I ride two up with my wife and while I will not sell this old girl I am looking at new and a bit bigger bike ... but with comfort and style of my 750 ... what are suggestions? I looked a Mean Streak and it felt so wrong .. cool looking but I felt hunched over and leaning forward. The late model vulcan 900 look nice but I have not seen one in person yet ... but the handle bars look the same as the MS .. hope not and besides its a 900 .. if I am going to go bigger .. I want to go bigger ( I do avoid the highways with the 750 .. seems to get blown around a lot). I am just interested in what people think ... I do know that next bike will be a blackout version .. damn tired of cleaning chrome!!

I was going to say Shadow. To go from a 750 to an 1800 is quite a leap. Suggest 900 or 1100 depending on your size. Both are touring models and you can fit them with bags and such. I went 750, 1100 then to a 1600 classic bagger. Each took time to feel comfortable riding. JMO

Thanks for all the suggestions . Yes looking used and I do like the traditional styling (except for less chrome) and I am short 5' 6" I have been looking at the Vulcan 900 .. right price range and sharp but going from a 750 to 900 did not seem like much of a upgrade. I went and looked at a mean streak and it was sharp but I did not feel comfortable on it .. I was leaning foreword and my hands were spread too wide

I moved to the 900 and it was plenty of power and the wife was WAY more comfortable, especially with the Saddleman seat I put on it. I loved the way it rode and sounded. But after taking longer trips I decided to sell old Blue and get the Victory Kingpin and haven't regretted that. 6 speeds and over 100 CI engine is plenty.

If you're short you'll have some issues with many bikes, but do keep in mind changing the handlebars is fairly easy on most bikes. So is changing the seat.
The Vulcan 750 is a rather quick bike, several larger (cc) models are in fact slower. So that shouldn't be your main criteria. Sounds like your looking for more comfort for not just you, but your passenger.

I've never liked the term "upgrade"....as it implies your getting something "better" , which is a subjective thing. Given all the features and the performance of the VN750 I challenge some on using this word. ;)
Bigger isn't always better. But if want bigger, I'd suggest (other than the Goldwing) The Honda VTX 1300. 27.5" seat height. Uses standard bars that can be changed. Much more aftermarket support. Get a good two up seat for it. If you want more power it's bigger brother the 1800 is very popular and has EFI. Many on the used market.
