Need some assistance. The 6 pin connector that plugs into the VR has a BROWN wire ( position M). With the key OFF , i am getting 12volts at this wire. Is this normal? When I plug this back into the VR the neutral, oil light and turn signals light up. Trying to figure this one out. Thought it may be a defective junction box. Replaced it, but to no avail. next I was going to put in my replacment ignition switch to see if this cures my issue.

The brown wire should definitely not have any voltage when the ignition is off. If you've got voltage there, you likely have voltage elsewhere in your system as well, specifically your brake light circuit (rear light will come on when foot brake is applied). That wouldn't happen under normal circumstances. Check for voltage on your head light fuse and tail light fuse as well. They're probably live as well.

A short between the white wire and the brown wire at or near the junction box or in/around the ignition switch may be the cause.
