In doing some research on our stators and the like, I came across this website.

It has some good info and pics on the site. I find it interesting that he moved his RR to the radiator rather than the usual place.

ChopperBobby is a member over on the Yahoo group. He's had no problems with the R/R relocated up by the radiator. Definitely gets plenty of air there.
If you notice some other models of bikes they also have it up front, but usually along the bottom.

Seems like a logical place to put it. I'd put it up high just to avoid the rocks and crap that seem to get kicked up by our front tires.

If you do a lot of stop and go riding in traffic, would it be good to mount it on top of a hot radiator ?

Bottom or top, I don't think the temperature difference would be that great. Judging from the pic though, it appears that it is isolated from the radiator thermally.

If I were going to install the RR on the radiator, I would have mounted the rr with the plug down, no water will collect in the plug socket.
