Welcome to the forum bobby. I see this is your first post. We have a newbie check in forum for you to tell us about yourself and your scoot. If you go to your profile page and fill in where you are from, it shows up on every post in the upper right corner. If there are other members close by, then you can find each other for a ride or help etc. Also, if you fill out a signature with some info about your bike; year, US, Canada, California or European model, emission controls on it, whether it is stock or modified etc., it will help identify what hoses and electrical connections should be there. Look over a few of the other members sigs on each post and you will get an idea what info is considered important. There are some differences on the bikes, and the info included with each post makes it easier to identify where a problem might be, or what a part is, when you ask a question.

I did a search, trying to answer your question about the vacumn nipple on the rear cylinder, but havn`t found anything yet. I know this has been mentioned before, but it escapes me at the moment. I will look some more, but someone else will probably have an answer by the time I find it. Welcome again, and Happy New Year.

If you still have the air valve to the reeds, that is where it is going to. It is under the seat. It is controled by the air vac in the air intake. I removed all that stuff and plugged the it off.

I have cone filters too. This is what we call the ear shave. I removed the air box and the valve and the hoses that went to it. The valve is under the seat. The hoses go the the reed valves on the side of the heads. The reed valves can be coastered or marbled. Look in the vulcan verses for more info.

Here's a pic of the rear of a petcock. Where's your nipple in this pic? I'm new to this question. Also, it is possible that yous is an alternate petcock. I've read elsware of folks replacing the 750's petcock with a savage 650 petcock.

I happen to have a Boulevard s40 (newer savage 650) and my 750 in my garage right now, so I measured the distance between the two mounting bolts and it matched the vn750, both are 9mm heads.

I might just try that, Kanuck, because my kaw replacement petcock has an extra 2" or so drop and that is tight near the front head. The 650 petcock is up closer to the tank (looks better gravity-wise) and even has the "Prime" position too (gravity fed/non-vac)
