Well, I still see them.....
BUT.....
I was at a buddies house and checked. From his 'puter, I saw the dreaded red X.

But you do see the clickable thumbnail, don't ya?
That I did see on his 'puter.

It's not clickable, and right clicking - show picture does nothing. It's down to grabbing the url out of properties.

Looks like this post was Ernie's last visit to the site,
at which time he deleted the pic posting instructions he wrote up.

A re-write on how to post pics

First, you need to go to the "Gallery" ( click "Gallery", just under the rear of the front tire on the VN750.com banner)
Upon entering there, click "Upload Photos"

Next, choose where you want to post the picture.
Now you want to click on "Browse" to get the pic off of your computer

Once you have the pic selected, you can add a title and description (but you don't have to if you'd rather not)

Once the pic is uploaded, right click the pic to get to the "Properties"

Copy the info in the "URL line

To add the pic to your post, click the postcard looking icon

Then paste the copied URL in the box

(make sure you don't have two 'http:'s' in front of the URL)

The result sure look like this

You Rock:motorcycl :pepper:
I just hope it's complete enough to help.
I know I don't have as much info typed as Ernie had, but I think there's enough.

I have a feeling he's (Ernie) still around here, under a different screen name, so thanks for leaving the pics Ernie.

You may be right...
Seems we have two members here with the exact same IP address.

I've done hyperbuzzin's post #30 and can get my photos from my PC to the Vulcan forum gallery but I can't find the way to get photos into a thread post.

Here: https://www.vn750.com/forum/25049-post30.html

I can get the photo to upload but when I right click on the uploaded photo it doesn't show 'properties'.

I've tried copy/pasting the https from the browser to the post but that doesn't work either.

Anybody got step by step easy to follow instructions for this inept computer user?

For pics going into a post .. . Do you have them uploaded to a picture host website. That's step one, then you get the http address for the pic on the host website. Using a link from the gallery page won't work, I don't think. I've never used the gallery.

Try a free picture host website like flickr or imgur. Photobucket isn't a free host anymore, they unplugged a lot of our pics when they started charging.

Put your pics on a host site, get the address from the picture at that site (not your browser address bar) and you should be in business. Sounds like you know how to copy/paste, there's a yellow button above the reply window that looks like a postcard, hit that and a popup window appears, paste the address into that window.

[IMG http://www. mybikepics .com /IMG] <---<< If you see an address with those IMG tags at your host site, you can just paste that into the post without using the yellow button.

Thank you for the clear instructions, Spockster!
The 'host website' maneuver is what I missed.
I've had no trouble posting pics on another forum that I've been on, for years.
I couldn't figure out why posting on this one had to be so complicated.

You're welcome, I wondered if that would be clear. Most forums are this way now, if I could ever post pics directly, I've forgotten about it. Was a huge headache getting my pics off photofrakkit. Probably still quite a few here I haven't restored.

For some reason, I have a hard time getting to my album on flickr. For now, I'm still adding pics, instead of going there and fetching.
