My turn signals stopped blinking so i replaced the relay and they worked again for about 2 weeks. I haven't riden in about 1 of those two weeks and today they won't stop flashing - both at the same time.

When the bike is still cold the high beam will stay on wether the switch is on or not - once it warms up it'll go back to low.

What is going on? any help is welcome specially if i can save money by not taking it to the shop.

Advance auto Parts

The head lamp issue has been going on before i replaced the Turn Relay

I also put in the old relay i tood out and the turn signals don't flash but do stay on illuminated without flashing as if though they were on.

Go to any auto parts store and get a two prong 12v relay flasher (about 3-4 bucks). Install it on two of the connectors female prongs (either top/left, or top/right). See what happens. If your flashers (even the hazards) work fine, then use it until you get a standard 3 prong relay flasher for VN750 from ebay or wherever.

As for your headlight, it may be that: our headlights are brighter during higher rpms (like when the choke is on during warm-ups) and should dim when the choke is taken off (lower rpms). This is because the charging system kicks in at about 2-3k rpms; giving more power to the batt.. It is normal for the headlight to brighten with higher rpms. (it's also a good indication that your charging system is working). What would be odd is if your headlight automatically goes from the low beam filament bulb, to the high? Ride safe.
the flasher i got from advance was a three prong - i bought it based on what i read in the forums - i'll get the specific flasher online though to see if that does anything.

It's good to know my charging system is working.

My high beam indicator will stay on along with the headlamp even when the switch is not on high is that part of what you mentioned?

When my flasher gave on me, I bought 3 different types of 3 pronged relays and ALL of them blew my fuse. It was the 2 pronged flasher relays from the auto parts that held me down til my replacement came in; I got a new/used one from ebay; works perfect.

As for your high beam issue, I refuse to mislead; I do not know. Someone should chime in shortly. All I know about my headlight is when I manually switch it to high beam, it like.. turns off the top or bottom of the lamp and turns on the other half resulting in brighter, wider light, and vice versa. For all I know, I may be riding with a defective lamp. Be safe.
Thanks for the input, i got the bike about 2 months ago and ive'd never had a vulcan before but i love it, i'm just trying to work out the kinks and make it as safe to ride as possible. I'm going to a local dealer to see if they have the part on site before buying it online.

Would you be able to give me the part number to make sure i buy the right one online?

AutoZone FL34 or EP34 flasher. $9.99. Since it mounts upside down, run a thin bead of sealer around the edge to keep water out.

The blink speed is my problem. I recently relocated the rear signals and used after market signals. They came with type 67 bulbs and cause all the signals to blink too fast. I believe if I swap out to a variable load flasher it may correct the problem.
I had the same issue with my truck when towing, adding the trailer signals would cause them to blink faster, replacing the oem flasher with a variable load flasher cured it.

From what I've read here a 3 prong automotive flasher won't work, so is a 2 prong my only fix?
