Thoughts on getting rid of the stock seat...

236 Views 14 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  bstrada
Hi I'm new here and have been looking at getting rid of the stock seat and sissy bar on my Vulcan. I have looked all over on revzilla and jp cycels and there doesn't seem to be any options for making the stick seat into a sleeker 2 up seat. I was wondering if anyone else here has done that or can point me in the right direction to look. The Vulcan has such a weird frame that I'm not sure if I'll have to cut the frame to get a 2 up seat to work.

If anyone has done this or has any ideas your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum! What exactly is a "2 up seat"? I've never heard this phrase used before.
Search around here, most of the pics are gone but there's some threads on using a Kawi 900 Custom and the Meanstreak seat.

Some Harley seats should be doable, but for two up that's about it unless you get a Mustang, Corbin, or Saddlemen made for this bike. The Corbin gives the front seat about 3" more butt space.

You should be able to mod any of those aftermarket seats for the Vulcan 900 the same as the stock 900. Chuck used the stock 900 seat with a Honda backrest and luggage rack.

Always check eBay.

Solo seats work too unless you need to haul a passenger.

Just be aware that a good stock seat and sissy bar (especially if the tool box is there) is very marketable.

It's just a driver and passenger seat. Ideally I'd get rid of the sissy bar and just have a flat back seat to hopefully make it look sharper

I just mean a flat back seat to be able to remove the sissy bar and make the bike look sharper.

Yeah I would keep them to return the bike to stock or have the option in the event that I would sell it.
Also try Meanstreak seat in the search.

Also referred to as a “king and queen” seat.
The VN does have the King-Queen style seat, but two-up just means for two people.

Can-Am has a whole line of ATVs specifically designed for 2-up, they're about a foot longer than usual.

I have a mustang seat on my 1989 it’s a very comfortable seat but it’s not made any longer so you would have to try and find one used you can ride two if passenger is slim

I Also have a Corbin with backrest I think it’s called the gun slinger it’s also for two slim You really sit in the seat no sliding around and it’s well made and looks great it also is no longer made but keep your eyes open on eBay once in awhile they get listed.
