My SO took the 93 Vulcan 750 to work one day. On the way home (open road) she said the fuel gauge dropped to E and the tach stopped working, and she also reported it was running rough. Made it home, but still missing and running rough, both gauges dead. When I started it up 5 minutes later, both gauges worked fine and it did not seem to have any problem running.

Any ideas?
Thanks

The tach is wired from the front coil, so if it was running rough when it happened, it sounds like you lost something on the front coil during that time. Maybe wires are loose, or frayed, rubbing on something under the tank. Don't know off hand what that has to do with the fuel gauge, except for the fact that the wiring for it is also under the tank... Seems like you need to snoop around under there and see what's up!

Make sure all the battery connections are still tight.
