So I was looking at the 900 seat that I am putting on and kept thinking that there was to much of a gap under the pillion portion of the seat. View attachment 8530
So I used some scrap wood at the shop and mocked these up. View attachment 8538
Not quite there but better.
After digging through the aluminium scraps at my Dad's house I found some 3/4" thick plate and turned it into this. 1372362302909.jpg
They fill the space nicely, let my saddlebags hang better than before 1372362454476.jpg
and will put the turn signals farther back so they won't interfear with the bags.
After I get the turn signals mounted I'll radius the edges a bit and polish them up.

I roughed them out with a band saw and a 2" wide belt sander with a 36 grit belt. Then I finished shaping them with files. Drilled them on a Bridgeport and I will be using a HD router table with a carbide bit to put the radius on. After that it will be back to files for touch up and then hand polishing them.
