So I am trying to fix my stock petcock to test the fuel flow vs the yamaha replacement. I ordered a new rebuild kit which stopped the leaking, but it doesnt ever really turn off. In the off position fuel still comes out of the two ports. I feel somewhat like a dumbass because it is such a simple thing. Maybe I am missing parts? What I have:

-Turning knob piece with oring
-rubber piece that fits into the housing
-a round spring that I have been putting between the turning knob piece and the rubber piece.
-vacuum side is complete for sure based on schematics and it works (ie I can suck in and here the valve open)

1) Do I have everything?
2) Is there a special orientation needed for the round spring piece?
3) In the off position the thing shouldnt drizzle gas right? (The yamaha part does not)

It seems in working condition there should be no fuel at all coming into the main housing to the valve part.

Ignore this. No wonder the thing leaked when I bought it. The spring goes between the plate and the turning knob. I paged down on the TOC manual and found an exploded view of the petcock.

Bash away.
<- dumbass of the day.

Its fixed though.
Sorry to waste your bandwidth =D
