Stator and clutch cover plastic coatings

So I never knew they were on there until they started to turn yellow a couple of months ago. Now that they have burned on for two years, any tips to remove them without scratching the covers ?

Chrome polish and elbow grease, and patience.
BTW.. the covers do polish up nicely once they are off.

All I did to remove them was heat the engine up and use a finger nail. Took about 20 minutes a cover, wasnt hard to get off with a hot engine.

I use Never Dull, works great on all metal, Be careful not to rub off the center circle, The Motor is painted and you can rub off the paint.
