I have yet to be able to organize a ride here with VN750 folks, so let me try again.

Anyone want to have a Southern California Meetup and Ride? We have some amazing roads around here, Angels Crest, Azusa to Crystal Lake, Palomar Mountain, among others.

If you're interested, post up and we'll try to nail down a weekend. I'm riding every weekend but a lot of the times I am on my VFR800. This would be a nice change.

What is the ETA of your bike being road worthy again?

A VFR forum I am on is doing a "Golden State Gathering" in September, so was thinking maybe doing this in August?

August should be do-able ! LOL
I am picking up engine Monday, Memorial Day, suspect a week + , many items to transfer to replacement engine, Stator with Tuexedo Mod & Cover (HELP, need bolt to pull stator), will transfer ultra low mileage rubber dampers, carbs to clean & mount, also, performing Ear Shave, ....etc.....From this forum, and observing NewRider with my prior case splitting, I am knowledgeable but not experienced in actual performing.
AZ, High pm temp's....not willing to work in extremes LOL ....but been many months w/o my ride....will see how much sweat I end up suffering LOL.

I found confident mech to split (original engine) cases for diagnosis.....but presently no coins for discounted labor & parts ....It will be a few months before we discover what my (original engine) oil pump/pressure problem is. Also, I am concerned about my crank/rod bearings wear.

Work and life happened, but this still needs to happen. :D

I ride every weekend, usually sunday, for a few hundred miles. Usually canyon/mountain roads. Anyone is welcome to come along, just let me know!

This weekend is Hemet -> Idyllwild -> Banning. Next weekend is Palomar as usual (my fav. road).

Based on the dates of the posts in this section... looks like it's high time to fire up L.A. regional.

With any luck, mods, tender loving care, and a can of WD-40, i hope to cross country to at least Kansas City by May this year. So Lydia still needs some test trial rides "around town". Next August i plan on a cross country ride to D.C. and back.

I'm still here, and I still have my VN. We'll be 'restoring' my wifes VN soon too.
