I bought my 06 VN750 in April of 07 off the how room floor and had no problems with her till a few months back. Then it seemed the bike possessed having one issue after then next. It even went to the point of having a mechanic friend work on it, witch up until then no one touched it but me.
The good new is I found this site and after a couple of hours of reading I found the answers I needed and was ready to give them a try.
I had the following issues that have been resolved:
Had the thermostat that stuck witch caused the top hose on the right blow out. all over my leg as I rode down the freeway. That what started it all.
Next was the fan that didn't turn on....found it was the ground wire was bad.
then had the fan blades that had melted off...Felt good to know I wasn't the only one its happened to.
I add the switch to bypass the thermal fan switch first as a test. After finding the thermal switch was fine I wired it in so it can use both. Living in Arizona I like being able to let the fan run longer when in city traffic.
Then was the loud clacking sound the appeared after the latest oil change. This one almost put me over the edge and actually had thoughts of selling the bike. Resolved it so quick by doing the Grambo Trick!
Took her out yesterday for about an hour ride, and she ran perfect as new. I plain to take out today for a real cruse.
So I did not join the forum to ask any questions rather to say Thank you guys for all of your help. I found the answers to the questions I had and I am in love with my Vulcan 750 all over again.
I've been riding for for 36 yr witch is most my life and its a great thing to have away to share information like this. This site is such a great find.
Stay cool with the wind in your face and the bears off your tail.
