My turn signals stopped flashing. The front light still light up for the running lights, and the hazards are not working. I searched on here and tried unplugging and reconnecting the red with under the left fork cover, nothing. I then bought the Autozone EP34 that another member (JMS I believe) bought for his LED bulbs... still nothing. I did get it to click a little, but nothing that sounded normal.

What can I check?

I am pretty sure I have a short somewhere near the relay. I played with it for a while, I can get it to work occasionally... randomly just by playing with the wires... but there seems to be no rhyme or method. It's currently not flashing. I am no electrical expert, I tried using my multimeter but the reading were unclear.

Flashers, I believe are the brighter filament than the running lights....if even "1" bulb in the whole circuit has one filament out, the flashers wont work.....a bad GROUND can cause the same.....

That sounds like loose spades in a plug somewhere, I had to tighten up all the ones in the JB plugs, which fixed the fan.

Just for the heck of it.....wiggle the wires coming out of the front blinker housings and see if anything changes.

I have seen where the cables squash the wiring against the housing and pinch the blinker wires causing a short.

I think the problem is somewhere near the left rear signal. I have had an intermittent problem with that blinker... it's not the bulb because when I hook it up to the right side, it works fine. Also I have an old set of signals that I plugged up to the left, the problem came and went. I need to get some electrical tape and then I will cut the harness and check the wires going from the flasher unit to the left rear signal.

Does this sound like I am on the right track?

I sometimes needed to reach back & slap the Left Rear turn signal to start it blinking.
Removed and cut new electrical ends for re-splicing/connection. Problem went away.

same on my '03 bulb burns out or wire breaks (don't ask how) and the remaining blinker simply blinks faster.

Yes I replaced it with an aftermarket one that is compatible with LEDs in case I buy some. I really don't think its the unit... but if I don't find the short I may buy an OEM one.

my relay went out and i went to autozone to see if they had one and it turns out they had two that looked like the oem and they both had different part numbers one of them worked on the bike the other didnt come to find out one had opposite polarity than the other you might want to look into that

EP-34 relay is compatible with our stock wiring and will work with LED's.
What part number is on the one you purchased?
