Anyone have any experience mounting a sidecar on a vn750? I
am considering buying one, but would like to hear from someone
with some experience. How do you like it? How does it handle?
How hard is it to mount & set up? What brand do you recomend.
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

*G* I have a sidecar on mine. It's a velorex sidecar. Light weight, universal mounting, and one of the more inexpensive sidecars out that at about $1800 new.
I did have a 3 degree rake added to my triple tree done by Steerite out of Canada. It was like adding power steering to the bike.
I would also reccommend getting the Progressive springs put in the front to improve handling.
Getting the alignment set is probably the hardest. Once that is set you are good to go. Consequently the sidecar is not a pop on one day and take it off the next sort of thing. Sure you can probably disconnect in about half an hour but reconnecting is gonna be a bit longer. Plus you have lights and brakes that should be connected for the sidecar you have to connect and disconnect.
With a sidecar mounted you are back into steering, no counter-steering like a normal two wheeler. Also, the bike doesn't lean into curves, you lean! Especially on right hand turns to keep the sidecar wheel down. (Otherwise you go from steering to counter-steering in a blink of an eye.)

Do you have a new link to your velorex pictures. I just picked up a 2006 VN750 to put a 562 Velorex sidecar on and would like to see some pictures of your installation. Thanks Lgreed

This is a place that sells and installs them. They admit that the pricing sucks as it is exchanged from Euros! However, they do have installation tips listed and plenty of pics and models. Craigslist might be a good place to look?

This is the Velorex website. It has a good set of pics, dealers, and installation instructions via PDF.

Dianna,
How does the 750 handle it? Is the engine strong enough?

Here is a link to some pictures of Dianna's sidecar rig. As you can see, she went all out. She has the complete Kawasaki Vulcan 750 Tour-Pac (no longer available), and has everything painted to match. I believe she also had the front fork rake modified to make it handle better. Jerry.
