So I got a pair I was told would fit. They hardly will open due to the rear turn signals being in the way. I know there are kits to relocate the signals.

I could use some opinions. Do you think it's better to get smaller side saddlebags (the ones I got are pretty large), make due with them the way they are with only a small opening, or go through relocating the turn signals?

I'm very new so I will be posting a couple other questions hope you don't mind!

Lastly, the saddlebags totally obstruct the rear passenger's foot pegs so would have to be removed if I had a passenger with me. Is that usually the case with saddlebags?

relocating the turn signals isn't hard at all. you can find the kits on ebay, fairly cheap. what kind of bags are they? What are the dimensions? I have large saddlebags, and once the turns signals were relocated I was able to move the bags far enough back that they cleared the passenger foot pegs.

The original "fire and steel" saddlebag mounting hardware includes the turn signal relocation hardware. Highly recommended if you can find it somewhere. Unfortunately, it's getting more scarce (and pricey). Used to be available at Ron Ayers: Kawasaki part number K53021-094. You do *not* want to pay dealer list for these :-(. I think I found mine on eBay.

Also see "Saddlebag Supports" in the Vulcan Verses.

Yea, mine are 17" x 14". So relocating them should work well. Here is a photo of the signal relocated on my bike. The bag is removed, so you can see the bag support bar too. This is what it looks like with the bags.

That looks really good! I love the driver backrest in the first picture. That whole seat setup looks great.

Signals look good.
