Considering Progressive shocks:
How are shocks measured....off the bike (uncompressed) or on the bike (compressed)?
What is the stock length? (I do not want to lower the bike)

Thanks in advance.

Stock length is 12.5 inches.

Size is measured "eye" center to center with the shocks OFF the bike.

Progressive shocks can actually be used to raise the bike with a load on it. I have the ones on my Goldwing set so the bike is the same height with my daughter and me on it as it is with no weight on it. It still rides fairly smoothly. I got those shocks for that purpose, to prevent it from sagging with a load on it. The shocks I got are actually 1/2" longer than stock.
