Should be able to, some others have posted about changing it.

Plan on destroying the old one to get it out. Then you can drive the new one in equally on all sides with a wood dowel, or the right sized pipe, maybe pvc pipe, copper may be too thin and dent the seal.

A small screwdriver driven through the face of the seal, then pry outward, should get it moving. Might have to peel it out with vise-grips if you run out of places to punch through.

Just don't break the case!

I did it externally. Had to kill the old one with a flathead to remove it.

Damn you kill seals with a flathead?I use either a club(baby ones?)or a .308

Running them over with a flathead Ford is humane?;)damn I guess liberals are OK then.
