Well now i got my bike back from the shop, its time to get back onto this mod. i think i finnaly have it figured out how i will do it. My plans are to swap out all the lighting on the bike. All signals and gauges going to led's and the headlight and new driving lights to hid's. This is the thread to another board that i have been on to gain help and insight on the topic. http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=109209

Any ideas or suggestions feel free.
Oh, before its mentioned... I know that there are premade led stuff....but i have chosen to make my own for several reasons....
#1 To say I made them, and for a truely custom look
#2 Most LED premades just suck
#3 premade hid conversions for the h4 and so on are very bad and in some cases hazardous. I will be swapping in DOT approved parts...therefore I will remain DOT ok
#4 Most LED premades arent as efficent. I.E. by using resistors, they burn electricity as heat and in some cases burn more juice then the original bulbs.

Now thats outta the way... For the hid conversion i plan to use a Acura TL projector for the Headlamp. I will also need to purchase a 7"? headlight with a clean smooth lense. I will post pics to show how i will mod it. The Acura TL was chosen cause it has a device that will move the bulb giving both high and low beam on the same bulb. For the ballast i plan to hunt down a modified denso that will switch from 35 watts to 50 when i want it. Hid driving lights will be Hella micro dx with spot lenses on them (all flood lighting will come from headlamp).

Problems Hids have to "ignite". meaning the can draw up to 10A for about 10 seconds when turning on. I figure if i do all the led mods and i have each lamp turn on individually(overide switch for the headlight), i can avoid any damage to the electrical system. Whatcha think?

any other questions feel free to ask..... TIME TO TAKE THIS BIKE INTO THE 21st CENTURY!!!!!

any ideas on parting in a fuel injection system :p

I'm very interested in watching you, and seeing how much it costs. I also have an interest in this, but it might be more costly than I would be willing to deal with.

i am guessing all the mods should come around the 600-800 mark....which i view as worth it as i will never have to replace another bulb and maybe improved charging system

alright. Update time. I have money now lol. so i will be ordering the parts for my new tail lights and turn sigs. starting to keep an eye out on ebay for my hid parts. I've also decided to keep on the side of caution i need a larger batt. Looking last night i found a wesco that is 3/4 of an in wider, all the other dimensions are the similar. I cant remember off the top of my head, but i think it was something like 250 cca and 16-18 ah. so i think may smooth out that hid start up of 10 sec draw of 10 amps.

Need Help!!!!

OK, just bolting in a HID isnt an issue. but i just dont wanna do that. I want this to be decent. So here is the problem.

We all know that when we turn, our bikes lean. This lean rotates the headlight. This is an issue moreso for HID then halogen. The reason for this is because HID has a very sharp cutoff and when leaning the light will blind oncoming traffic, and leave a blindspot to where you are turning into. To solve the problem the HID needs to rotate. I was thinking maybe a gyro with a sensor that feeds info to a processor, that in turn moves a motor and gets feed back via a POT. I cant program chips. Any electronic majors here?

For the sake of the mod, i am hoping that the hid fog will produce enough sidespill to overcome this downfall. Working on the tail light as we speak, but i have a move coming up so i will hold installation untill i am done with that. PICS ON THE WAY

I hope to have a prototype made and installed hopefully by mid june. I am moving this up comming weekend (19th) so i will be down and out starting wed. but i hope to get some pics up when i get back. this project is starting to look eally promising.
