Hello,

I have VN750(A9-US) and I need to disassemble the rear shocks for maintenance (oil change, seals ...)
The only thing I know is that the shocks are Showa, I don't know the model.
Can anyone help me!Thanks

The only maintenance that can be done to the stock shocks is to do the oli change.
You must use 5w fork oil. To do this the procedure is:
a) remove the air valve with a 10mm long socket
b)must pump a little bit the shock to let the oil out (the easy way is to remove one of the shocks and put the one to be drain on the left side, let the bike rest on the side stand and pump the shock with the bike)
c)fill the shocks set on the bike (much the same way as you drain it) just make a small funnel with a couple of sheets of paper.
d)Once is full of oil you must remove about 88ml of oil out of the shocks (see oil drain) so that you have the air chamber for the shocks.

Shouldn't be too dificult to do just a little work to get all the oil out of the shocks. Do this, when I did it one of the shocks had very little oil and was very dirty.

So do I go about tightening the suspension, just pump some air into the shocks? I just got my bike and have no clue about any of this stuff.
