Replaced my old shocks with aftermarket with progressive springs, decided to rip an old one apart to see if it could be rescued.
After compressing the spring it comes apart pretty easily, uses typical snap rings for the major parts.
after getting it this far I figured getting new seals is going to be an issue so stopped, think the actual damper piston shaft is screwed to the top eye, it has flats on it anyway.
New shocks are much much better than the old ones, left original leaked air with a noticeable hiss when i tried to pressurize it. Bike doesn't skip across white lines or rain grooves anywhere near as badly as it did before and doesn't bottom out getting into my driveway anymore.

I like the Progressive 412s but they are a bit too expensive for me right now.
