I just wanted to make sure this is typical.

Take either of the back cylinder spark plug wires off and the bike will still run. Take either of the front cylinder spark plug wires off and the bike shuts off.

Shouldn't be. Are you sure you're getting spark to your back plugs? If not, then you'd have the symptoms you're describing (no spark at back plugs, so the bike's running only on the front cyl; pull the back plugs and the bike's still running only on the front cyl. Then, if you pull a plug on the front cyl, you're down to just one plug and one intake valve trying to do all the work of keeping the bike running).

I have spark to all plugs, the bike runs fine, no hickups when driving along, I am going to try removing them at 2000 rpm to see if I get the same results to see if pappa is right.
