I'M GETTING READY TO INSTALL A NEW TIRE ON THE REAR. i'M GOING TO GO WITH A 170/80 SIZE REAR TIRE. BUT BEFORE I TEAR IT APART I WANT TO MAKE SURE I GOT EVERTHING I MAY NEED. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT HOW LONG THE REAR BRAKES LAST. I'VE JUST TURNED 16,000 MILES. BRAKE STILL FEELS GOOD. JUST DIDN'T WANT TO TEAR IT APART AND THEN FIND OUT I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN PADS TO INSTALL WHILE I'M ALREADY HERE.

You should have no problem.
The rear last longer than the front.

My bike is coming up on 36,000mi and, as far as I know, the brakes are still original (had less than 7000 when I got it)

There's an indicator needle on the brake arm (on the hub) which shows when the brakes are adjusted down to their limit.
