The backfiring on deceleration is finally driving me up the wall. I think I am going to marble soon. From what I've read, just stick the marbles in the hoses. Got it. Do you do anything with the vacuum lines? Block one? Both? What do you use to block them? Also, are the vacuum lines the ones that come out right next to the air mix screws?

Please fill me in. I'm new at this stuff. Thank you!

Just do the marbles. The only time that the small hose needs blocking off is if the valve is damaged (diaphram busted) or the entire system is removed.

try blocking the vac hose (small one next to air/fuel screws) to the right side carb and see if it helps. Just try a screw in it or even a golf tee. On mine I had to block that off when I marbled. I'm not sure of others though but I had to.

I coastered mine, and at first it had eliminated all the popping. But, now a few months later, it's popping a lot again. I may need to adjust the carbs a bit, though. Might be running too rich.
