It's been a little over five weeks since I have acquired my Vulcan 750. Here's what I have accomplished so far...

R/R relocated with a bracket I made from some scrap metal
Oil/Filter Change
Air Filter replacement to K&N after finding foam disintegrated
Spark Plug Change
Final Drive Oil Change
Coolant Flush
Brake Fluid Flush
Fuel Cap Disassembled and Cleaned, New O-Rings for Screws
Seafoam in Fuel
Voltmeter/USB charging ports
Cell Phone Handlebar Mount
Gremlin Bell (given by wife) with Hangar Bracket
Hand Wash/Polish - Leather Clean Seat/Saddlebags - Remove Rust - Remove Windshield to Clean and Polish Gauges/Headlight Bucket
Spare Keys Cut


I have two brand new Pirelli MT66 ready to be mounted. I picked up two 90 degree chrome valve stems and two bottles on Ride-On tire sealant. I have Moly paste on the way along with a new O-ring to lube the spines when the rear wheel is removed. I have two new rectangular mirrors to mount as well.

I'm hoping I can change the tires myself, we'll see how it goes I guess. There's plenty of information online from removing the wheels to mounting/dismounting tires. Will balance with the ride-on.

My next purchase will be an AGM MF battery so I can stop checking the levels.

Hopefully after all this I can just ride the hell out of it for a few thousand miles till maintenance time again. Does anyone have anymore suggestions? Here are a few things I've had small issues with on the bike.... I can't really find a comfortable confident position for my right foot - I figure resting on the brake isn't enough to push the brake? My hands also get achey after a lot of city riding clutch and brake action.

Nice! I'm jealous of that clean stock vulcan. About the hand cramps, I'd see about adjusting the clutch/brake lever up or down. Loosen the bolts on the lever mounts and rotate em to your liking. Other than that you should be good to go. Great job on all the work

That's about all I did in terms of maintenance before I started riding a lot. I'm sure you'll wind up customizing it a bit, but what you've done so far should leave you a safe ride with all the obvious issues sorted beforehand.

And learn not to grip the bars so tightly. Most times this is what causes hand or wrist pain, not just using the levers...
I drive a tow truck 6 days/week 12+ hours a day so my hands are already worn out and calloused from gripping the steering wheel all day. Three callouses on the top of each palm at pinky, ring and middle and on the top knuckle of each of the same fingers. Probably tired of the abuse
