There has been a lot of discussion about Kaw vs. Harley exhaust crush gaskets lately.
I just discovered the Harley p/n is contained in the Vulcan Verses exhaust section.

Short quote from above link:
If you add aftermarket pipes you need to replace your header ( crush ) gaskets.
The Harley crush gasket that fits our bike is HD #17048-98.

Yeah Kanuck, no argument from me. I thought the general consensus here a year or so ago was that Ma Kaws gaskets were larger diameter and easier to install for a good seal, and that was the advice I passed along on several threads.

Then I think it was KM who commented that he found Harley crush gaskets better and provided the H-D part number. I have never used either one, so have decided to refrain from offering an opinion on which to use. I started this thread simply to provide the Harley part number in an easy to find title on the forum, for those who want it.

I had no issues with the Kawi gaskets which I used after engine removal. I have not tried the HD gasket and so cannot tell if they are any better.
