I've been riding my VN750 to work each morning and the scenery is just beautiful. I'm blessed with a long twisting hilly ride into work. There is very little traffic unless I get caught behind a small bus which is traversing through those same scenic roads. This happened today. Still, the whole ride wasn't lost.

I was thinking today why it was I am not on my VN900 or my BMW. And I thought about all of you and why you are on VN750.com. The VN750 hits a sweet spot for riders. For me, it's quick and responsive (stock). I lover the handling. The 900 has longer legs and the BMW is quicker but the BMW's sitting position is different. It's a different ride for a different Venue. I love my '91' VN750. The more I ride it the more distance I am putting between myself and my other bikes. It's just fun to ride!

It's by no means the best bike in any respect, but it is a TON of fun to ride. It fills in the gaps!

Comfy (enough) as a cruiser, torquey (enough) to putt around, revs high to really surprise people with the performance (for a 750cc), and cuts like a knife if you can handle it and push it through corners.

Nothing more fun to me than dropping a gear and powering out of a corner, revving it to 9k rpm and just enjoying that top-end performance.

I'm missing it, we had a dry spell and heat wave, but I'm stuck putting a new roof on my shop, glad it hasn't rained. It was 90° for ten days, today dropped to 73° for the next ten.

Just moving my bike around the shop makes me want to get on and go. Plan to do the clutch case gasket and check the scenery next week, we'll have cool nights and warm days, no rain in sight.

Ankle deep in leaves and I chopped them all up 4 days ago.

I hadn't had a bike in 19yrs, and was a sportbike rider back in the day ('90 Kaw EX500). Never would have considered a cruiser until an old friend offered to sell me his '95 VN750 for a price I couldn't refuse. 2 years and 12,000 miles later - I love this bike!

Admittedly, it is a bit challenged for seating room when riding 2-up, and we do a lot of that. I'm going to be looking for a nice used V-Star 950 Tourer over the winter/spring to make our weekend rides more comfortable. We've sat on a few together at dealers and shows, and we both really like the seating room for 2.

But I have no plans to sell the VN. It's just too damn much fun to ride solo! Plus, the woman is considering taking the MSF courses and getting her own license, the VN would be a great first ride for her...

As for New Jersey roads, I feel very lucky to live where I do. I'm in the northwestern part of the state, and I've got phenomenal riding all around me. North through Sussex County into NY State towards either Hawks Nest or Bear Mountain. West through Warren County and into the PA Poconos. South through Hunterdon County and into Bucks County PA. And even after living in this area for my entire life, I still have a lot of "never been on this road before" moments. The Harley dealer out here (Tramontin in Hope, NJ) runs a lot of escorted group rides through the area that are a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

I sold my 2004 this spring to a younger man from Springfield, Illinois. He had a Harley Sportrster and had ridden a friends VN750. After that he decided he wanted a VN750. I miss having a bike, but I have resisted the urge to buy another one. I do see some that I think would be a good buy.

On a nice day I ride from Lambertville NJ up route 29 and across to PA once I hit Frenchtown. I travel back home on route 32 towards Titusville NJ until I arrive at Washington Crossing bridge then back over to route 29. It's an awesome ride. 42miles in just over an hour without stopping. This is a quick ride. On the ride back, I can see bowmen's tower and often think of maybe hiking since this ride is so quick.

Just down in that area yesterday... Crossed into PA at Belvidere, then down to Frenchtown for lunch, Then back up near Belvidere for ice cream, and finally north past Swartswood Lake to Newton before heading home. About 150 miles total. Good day of riding...

I was going to try and get up to Strange Days, but couldn't work my schedule around it...
Strange Days wasn't quite the same at the new place, but was probably because of the lack of Wolfie.I say we get more people there and actually watch the bands next year and get involved more with the festivities, as last year there was some loose ends that people needed to tie up and everyone was a little tired.I know it had a different vibe and all but watching the flat track races was awesome. watching raked out choppers sliding around and keeping up with the flat track bikes was something I will remember forever.Hex and K-Dog,I wish you could have seen that, but I understand what you guys needed to do.love you,my brothers
