Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I could expect to get for my bike if I sold it complete as a parts bike. It is a 2000 Vulcan 750. It was running as an everday driver 2 years ago. Everything is complete on the bike, the problem I ran into was a bad mechanic. I took the bike in to have the carbs reworked and the guy screwed it up so bad, I have been unable to get it fixed. I have recieved a few quotes all averaging around $1800 to have the carbs rebuilt, gas, hoses, brakes, etc..... and I just dont have that kind of money right now to throw into it. So I am looking to just cut my losses and sell. I do have the title and it is a clean title. Let me know what you guys think.

Thank You.

I will get pics posted once I recieve some feedback and get the bike picked up from the dealership.

I would attempt to do all the work myself, but at the moment I am stuck in a one bedroom apartment with no garage or workshop..... Kinda hard to tear that deep into something working in an open public parking lot... :(

You could do all that work yourself, just use the vast amount of knowledge on this site and you wont have to spend the earth, dealers are in the main rubbish, if you know these bikes like the lads on here you will NOT have a problem getting it going yourself believe me :smiley_th.

Are you wanting to ride again? If so, you can do all the work required!

If you want to just sell it, it may be worth it to fix it yourself and then sell it. You could cut your losses and sell it as a parts bike, but I couldn't imagine getting much for it non-running. Even if all the tins were immaculate I wouldn't spend more than $500 on a non-running bike. Too many unknowns.

If your close, sometimes I work for beer and homemade food. I prolly not da only one.

Yes for both but you have to order each part individualy from the dealer may not be that much for you. How far are you from sulpher springs tx if you could get it over to where I'm at ofr if not to far could come you way when I'm free if the mine gets running soon.

Never mind the traveling part that's a bit of a drive

And if you pay 1800 to have the carbs fixed they had better be brand new you can order new for 1000. That one reason I did it myself also it had bad machanic experiance also. Mine had been taken to two different shops and thousands of dollars latter not **** all diaframs ripped and o rings broke. Thank god I wasent the one to take it them.

Main diaframs 180bucks a piece
Idle or cruise diaframs 45bucks a piece from dealer but did run across some on a web page that was 20 plus shipping and they came with new springs and small o rings have to try and find it again.

The small. O rings 3 bucks a piece

And getting the hole carb set up out and back in the bike priceless
