I need to change the oil on my 94 750. I have done it once when I first got the bike, by removing what I thought was the drain plug, which contained the filter screen as well. Now it is time for another oil change. The bolt head is very stripped, so I ordered a new one, or so I thought.
The part number for what is called the oil drain plug references a way smaller bolt than the cap that you remove to get at the oil screen, and change the oil, according to the manual. What I would like to know is, can I drain the oil by removing the oil drain "plug", which seems to be at the bottom of the pan, or should I always be removing the "cap", and cleaning out the screen as well.
I ask because I really need an oil change, but I don't have the proper tool to remove the cap, since it is very stripped. I have ordered a new cap bolt, but I want to do an oil change now.
Thanks!
