I'm kind of a noobie and never rode without a windshield before and was looking for some perspective. I'm not a pansy by any means...

I love that these dudes are on here biching and moaning that they can't ride without a windshield, cuz it's too hard to hold themselves up. Then bikerMOM gets on here and is like "f windshields, f helmets" Bunch of pansies. :baby:
In Some States is not Illegal to ride without a helmet, does this mean you should not wear a helmet?

In ALL States it is not Illegal to blow your brains out with a shotgun, does this mean you should should blow your brains out?

What do you think BikerMoms children would think "GOD FORBID" if she went down and died from Severe Head Trauma?

Do you think it would be?

A) At least she rode like a "TRUE BIKER" untill the very END!!!

OR

B) If she had only wore a HELMET she would still would be here with US!!!

Riding Without a HELMET is no different than having UNPROTECTED SEX with someone who has AIDS!! You might not die TODAY but TOMORROW will come!!!

We ALL have a conscious choice to "LIVE OR DIE" So DON'T call me or others a PANSIE if we choose to "LIVE" and wear "PROTECTIVE GEAR"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To SUM it Up!! If you have a "DEATH WISH" buy or borrow a shotgun and save US TAX PAYERS A **** LOAD OF MONEY!! Inestead of WASTING MILLIONS of TAX PAYER DOLLARS to try and save an IDIOT who was NOT wearing a HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just ask INIDAN LARRY and THOUSANDS of others if they had a chance to do it all over again and wear a HELMET, would they? That's right!!! You can't. THEY ARE DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN it KM!! I think you are starting to rubb off on me!

yeah I do agree with you on the helmet. even though there are times when I ride with out one. I just recently read a report talking about how the amount of deaths have gone up. but the amount of licensed riders have gone up. http://www.kare11.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=604100&catid=2&provider=email the windshield I thought was the more the funny part. I admit I sorta felt the problem the first time I rode without a windshield. but after 100 miles I got used to it, and it hadn't crossed my mind since then 'til I read this post. since then I've been trying to pay attention to how it is. and I just learned to ride withit. maybe when I get the money I'll buy a nice plex 3. cuz my spitfire did absolutely nothing but give me a splitting headache cuz the way it blew the wind it put a buffeting effect right at my ears. whose the pansy now? that's right biches... me.

I'll admit it; I'm a pansy. Intend to stay that way. Heck, I'm such a pansy I even wear my seat belt in the cage. Gives me the willies when I see the majority of local Harley riders sporting "novelty" half helmets. This is a mandatory helmet state! Standard gear is a T shirt, jeans and boots.

Guy in my Sunday School class is an ER doctor. Told me about the rider he treated who hit a deer. Went over the bars and rolled quite a ways. In addition to the broken bones, had lots of road rash. No gear other than a helmet. At least he didn't have any brain injuries.

Right there with you, Flite. All I know is that if I ever do have an unscheduled impact with some of the highway department's most marginal work, I'd feel like a real idiot lying in my hospital bed while some underpaid and less than motivated aide named Ralph pulls gravel out of every burn and every orifice piece by piece knowing that Ralph would have been working on someone else had I been wearing the correct gear...

Right on, I agree. Helmets are kinda like insurance: you might not need it all the time but when you do, you're damn glad to have it.

This thread actually led me to start the other one about the protac drivers backrest. Someone here (one of the "old" ones, Dog or Hoss I believe) suggested a drivers backrest to help with the wind when sans windshield. Another member here PM'd me and offered his used protac (thanks again!) So I bought it and I'll post a review after I install it and try it out. I still can't believe that I'll get the protac like 2 weeks before I get the saddleman seat. I ordered the seat like 3 weeks ago. Grrr, oh well patience is a virtue I guess.
