Hello everyone I'm new here this is my first question sorry if it's already been addressed but I could not find it. Basically I have a 1986 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 I just acquired and it is rigged up to work without a coolant reservoir tank. It runs fine so should I leave well enough alone or should I look at getting a coolant reservoir tank put back on? Also are there any advantages or disadvantages to running without the reservoir tank? I'm really not sure why the previous owner rigged up like that.

Any coolant is going to expand somewhat when heated, so an overflow or expansion tank of some sort is needed, otherwise some day you're going to blow off a hose and pump all your coolant onto the pavement.
