Hi Guys,
I am a new rider who just bought a 2001 Vulcan 750, and have been going for rides in the hills around Poconos/ Stroudsberg. Bike runs great and I have been of thinking of going further afield. I had a question on what is a good way to attach a phone to the handlebars so I can use the GPS for longer rides. I have a RAM mount holder for the phone, just can't figure out a good clamp system for the bars....or suggestions of any good system.
Thanks,
TJ

Ram should have a handlebar mount. Mine works great.

Had no issues with any of their products. When I got my Zumo it came with several types of mounts. One was for the brake cylinder, and one was the U bolt for the bar I linked to above.
I actually ended up making one that screwed into the hole for the mirror mount on the clutch lever. (The FJR had its mirrors mounted to the fairing, but the clutch and brake levers still had mirror holes under rubber plugs)

I usually recommend having a tether of some sort to secure the phone even if using a dedicated phone holder, unless you are using this one:

Close. I use this one with the rectangular rubber piece for extra secure mounting which is a 5 solution to your 10 lol:

I have heard of phones getting knocked off those holders, perhaps the "rectangular rubber piece" was added to help?

And what's a phablet?

My bet is knocking the phone off the bike is exactly why it was added. Cycle Gear told me explicitly to use that thing. Phablet LOL - my bet here is that a scribe heard it wrong. I guess they don't get paid to think lol
