Ok, so I have the new TPE stator and the new Roadstercycle MOSFET kit.

The new stator leads are long enough to reach the R/R on their own, but are too small to work well with the plug supplied with the R/R kit.

The R/R kit comes with 8 or 10ga wires, the stator leads are around 12-14ga.

There are two ways of looking at this, but I'm thinking it's best to use as much of the heavier gauge wiring as I can and cut the stator leads off short.

The other way, I was thinking the smaller stator wires would allow the current through with less resistance, producing less heat in the wires.

Not being completely hip on electrical work, I'm asking for guidance on which way to go here.

I'm relocating the wire bundles for the stator and pickup coils to the top of the trans. R/R is relocated to behind the left side cover.

So use as much heavy wire from the R/R kit as I can, or as much stator lead as I can?

Smaller gauge wire will cause more resistance to the amount of potential current and voltage you are passing (70 VAC) from Stator. ...Actually will cause wires to become hotter. Heavier is needed.

Keep in mind, even cutting the smaller wire gauge as short as possible, the smaller gauge wire can/will be a potential problem.

Ideally, install appropriate wire terminals onto the heavier gauge wire, then insert those terminals into your R/R connector.

Alright, thanks. See, I used to know this ****e, now I'm just old and befuddled.

The stator leads for the R/R plug are 8-10ga and nearly long enough to reach the stator cover. So I'll leave just enough of the TPE leads to make future repairs and use mostly the heavier gauge wire for the run to the R/R.

Gonna have to be a sanitary looking splice, since it will be visible with the wires relocated up/over the trans instead of down/under.

Unless there has been any other wire mods for the headlight. When you bypass the original wire harness and go from the stator to the RR. Your headlight will not operate. One of the stator wiresgoes to the JB to operate the headlight relay.

I have one stator leg jumped over to the junction box, but I tried the bypass at some point. Have to find the info and verify where it's at right now, bypassed or in the original plug.
