I have a 2002 VN750A. I purchased in 2011. Its been a good ride until the battery stopped charging. I had to get the stator replaced. That was NOT fun.

Also I'm looking for small trunk that can be attached behind the seat. Any ideas?

Welcome, do you have the stock luggage rack? If so Givi makes a 34L trunk that can mount to that.

The rack is a hard to find part, sometimes you’ll see one on here or on eBay. If you’re crafty, you can fabricate a rack onto the back of the stock seat.

check out this thread, I thought this guy did a clever job with his

Welcome to the forum. Try eBay for used VN750 parts and maybe you'll find a luggage rack there. I thought the chrome luggage racks came standard on these bikes. Did you remove it? Or maybe the previous owner?

That's really cool, I didn't know about this thread.

Also, does it have to be a luggaage container? Would saddlebags suffice?

I have the stock rack but I’ve broken it twice, I repaired it by cutting lag bolts and sliding the shafts inside the luggage rack bars where it broke to reinforce it. I kept this thread just in case I break it again and don’t feel like repairing it fit the 3rd time.
this guys idea (or some variation of it) will be my next option. I’ve even looked at PVC as an option. It’s ridiculously strong and if I reinforce it with a solid core it would be even stronger.
Welcome to the machine!

Saddlebags work, the leather won't hold as much weight as hard bags do. Usually it's necessary to move the rear turn signals for throw over type bags. There's brackets for that if you can find them, I just made an aluminum bracket and mounted aftermarket running/turn lights on the license plate frame.

I am using coocase they have been discontinued in the USA . They came with alarm option and brake lights . I had to order approx 6 ss hollow tubes. I mounted the coocase mounting plate onto the cylinders to gain approx 1 1/4 inches so I could open the coocase and it would clear the little Kawasaki trunk. It worked out well . The cases that were alarmed had a quick disconnect electrical plug so when you locked it in place it would activate the remote control to open the case when it was locked and you also could activate the self contained alarm.
