Hi Guys - when I bought the 04 bike a few months ago the neutral light did not work - so I thought no prob - I'll change the bulb at some point - well last night I decided to do just that and found out that it is apparently not the bulb - does anyone know where the neutral switch is located or what else I might check?

Thanks for any suggestions

The neutral switch is located at the lower, middle, rear of the engine toward the bottom. There should be a single green wire attached. :smiley_th

I checked the switch today:(
No Continuity - is the switch just an unscrew the okd one - put in a new one kind of a fix? or do you have to drain the oil or open some part of the case?

Just remove the old and install the new, use a drain pan in case some oil does come out. With key on touch the green wire to ground, the neutral light should come on. :smiley_th
