I picked this bike up around the 1st of April and it had some things that needed to be fixed, bad miss, carbs needed some cleaning, some wiring and just some time put into it.

here is a pic of the bike when I got it

So I took off all the sheet metal, got rid of the flat black, made new pipes, put on new brakes and got it running good

heres after paint and before the new pipes were on

after new pipes

Now I need a new seat, I have been looking on ebay and what not but having a hard time finding one (That I like and that I think we fit right).

What seats are ya'll using on your bobbers?

Really I just need help coming up with a seat for this thing!!!!!!!!

How about a the driver,s seat off a 1500 classic if you want to stay with the solo.Mine is a two piece seat from the factory.it may be bigger than what you are looking for but it is comfy and would be easy to take the cover off and thin the foam down ,if you wanted.

Have you seen any pics of one on a 750? I would hate to buy a seat the have it be way to wide or to short.
Wish there was a shop around me that stocked seats so I could set them on the bike to see how they look.

Looks sick!

I'm hoping to do something similar with my bike...I'm assuming you don't know what that fender came from?

How much did those pipes run you?

you can check out wut i used on my bobber but u prob want sumin more cushy, search "bobber like no other" i also have pics of the system I used to install the seat which could help u. Install a steel plate where ur seat is so u can fab ur seat mounts on that and then just drill and tap it the plate and frame and fasten with small bolts. it keeps a clean look too by covering all the wiring and battery.

I will check it out for sure. I need to get all the wiring covered up.

I'm not to worried bout getting a soft seat, what's on there now is very hard and its not bad to ride at all

just mod the original seat. when you take the vinyl off you will see how easy it is to modify. you can easily make it a solo or double.

I agree with denny on the 1500 seat. I think it'll offset the front end heavy look the bike has now. IMHO the vn750 tank is too round and sits too high to work well with a small seat.

Ya know, I think that's 1 of the best looking bobber's based on the VN 750 I've seen so far! Very original (pipes on both sides) and yet conventional. Clean lines too!
As to $60 pipes, can't beat that!!:smiley_th:smiley_th

I used a springer solo seat and I welded dzus tabs to attach a cover to cover my battery. if money is not an issue you a hd sportster solo seat will fit perfect if you are enginuitive enough. the deminsions are similar as the 1500 as . Here is my bobber build http://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14376

I built my own springer solo seat. I need to redo it with more padding though, since I went with a rigid set up!

you can always go completely custom and start with an old john deer steel tractor seat. With a little metal fabrication work and a small amount of padding they turn out really comfy.
