I recorded my voltmeter with the bike running after tightening and cleaning the connections. At one point I shut it off and restarted twice. This is where I have my issue. See it drops to almost below 10. Vulcans wont start at this voltage. When cold it just runs itself down too low. Perhaps I need a starter? Battery is from july of last year, NAPA wet cell.

The alternator is putting out 28 volts at idle and 60 - 65 volts at 3,000 rpm between any two of the three legs. Regulators are like 100 bucks so want to be sure.

Any ideas?

after watching your video and reading you post, you have a bad battery,it is charging good but the battery won't hold charge.you really should buy a n AGM,Maintenance free battery this time,It will save you money iin the long term

maybe your battery has warranty time still on it and you cam credit it towards a better one.

Yup. I think an AGM is my first thing I will do. Thanks. I have to find the receipt for my NAPA wet cell. I see NAPA has an AGM.
