For those interested in the styling of the older square tanks motorcycles from the 70's, my brother is selling his 1978 Yamaha XS400 2E on Ebay. No reserve.

Click for Ebay Auction

Get around 58-60 MPG. Located in Southeast Michigan.

Pretty clean for a 30 year old bike, but some minor blemishes...read the auction for more info....

me and my dad are working on honda passport 70 that his (dad's) neighbor gave as a gift instead of throwing away.
now, remember when your mother told you "if you can't say something nice, shut up"? this is one of those times.

when i sat on it my dad told me "oh man, you look dumb "

tankist, i'm reminded of that scene in one of the police academy movies when a hardcore biker played by bobcat goldthwait passes a police officer riding something resembling your dad's passport and leans over and screams 'nice bike! where do you put the batteries?' :) classic line. [sorry, couldn't resist...]

Nice looking bikes your bro had/has Dmag.

I saw something that looked like that Honda Passport (no idea for sure what kind it was) at a local flea market, all original with 2 original helmets that came with it. All the guy said about the price was "Four figures, if your serious, I'll tell ya what four". Kinda made it sound like it was a high 4 figures!
Them things ain't cheap !!
I wouldn't mind something like that when camping.
Have fun workin' on that thing Tank !:smiley_th

Luggage rack, but no bags? Nice seat - I think I'll paint mine that way. I bet you could collect all sorts of pretty flowers in that front basket! (my daughter does). Is that a Cobra slip-on muffler?

On the flip side, it looks fun! Be great for trails.

well, my dad is one of those people who cant see stuff broken or go to waste, he fixes stuff even if he doesnt need them. he didn't really want a old scooter, he always working on some project as it is. a neighbor was throwing this one away so he picked it up. with all the paperwork! (original owner ~5500 miles, 1981)

the thing sat at pa's garage for over a year now (and who knows how long it sat at the neighbor). we got to it yesterday, squirted some oil into cylinder (and turned over the motor couple times), carb celaner into the carb, cleaned what could be cleaned and tried to give it a kick. wow! even though i can't say it fired right up the engine was sputtering but holding on its own for a bit. so there is a chance. the picture i put earlier is just a pic i found on the web. our thing colored light blue with rust, the front plastick things are gone so its bare frame. and no, it doesnt have the basket for the flowers :(
