If I'm not mistaken, you'll still have to pull the motor in order to do the mod kit for future stator work. After the first pull and install, you only have to remove the outer cover next time.

I believe there is a technique where you don't have to completely pull motor but almost. Something to do with dropping part of the frame. Read it on here somewhere. You might do a thread search. I have also found a Google search can bring up threads you are looking for a bit easier than trying the forum's technique. Somewhat limited.

gcextreme was making mod plates:
http://www.vn750.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20182&page=11

I am not sure if he still has any available....maybe Private Message him

an engine pull....or partial removal (tilt) may be required to do the mod if you remove the side cover to modify it.
I don't think you need to remove the side cover to do this mod, but some suggest you do so as not to get metal shavings in the case when cutting the case and grinding things down. I suppose if you are careful and flush the oil afterwards you can get away without removing the side cover.

here is the original thread for doing the mod:

Here is another thread by kc matt with photos:

EDIT: I believe TOC manufacturing offers another option for this mod.

if you do drop the engine go ahead and pull it all the way, it will make it easier to get a good seal on the cover and only take a few more minutes. write up in my sig line for stator removal.
