Like the one on my old bike on the right or a batwing harley style.

The small one is made by Maier Plastics and the larger ones are mostly factory Harley or Memphis Shades brand.

There are only a couple of places that will sell you a fairing for (that fits without mods) a VN750.

One I found was a great deal at only $1,600. :loser1:

Only thing, reasonable, I have seen is from Rifle windshields...google it
Infact, the picture above looks like the small rifle @ about $300
they have a larger one for about $400. Those are starting prices and
it grows from there.

If you like the looks, a memphis shades batwing is about the same price
if you are or know of a creative mod-er-er.

Did u have to modify it to make it fit.
If you are asking me ,no I didn't have to modify it the mounting kit came with mine and has enough adjustability to fit it to most bikes.

I think slimvulcanrider posted a link in the past year, to some batwing fairings that will fit the vn750 selling for about $100.
Sorry but I don`t recall if it was an Ebay link or a manufacturer site.

There is a difference between a "fairing" and a windscreen or "sheild".

A fairing is attatched to the bikes frame, and does not turn with the front wheel. A fairing does not have to have a windscreen...

A sheild may have a "faring like" section, but is not really a fairing unless it follows the rule above. Am gussing you mean a something like this, but black:

Kawasaki did offer a full fairing for the bike, a few members here have one. Some have retro fitted old Vetter fairings, and there still is a place that makes a sportbike looking fairing for the 750 :

In several places, including David Hough`s book "Proficient Motorcycling", I`m sure I have seen references to frame mounted and fork mounted fairings. This is the first time I have read that to be considered a "fairing", it must be frame mounted. I will double check the book to be sure my memory is accurate.

Edit: Yes, Hough does refer to a fork mounted fairing on the third line on page 213..

Sorry, did not phrase that correctly. I should have said the term "fairing" usually means one that is frame mounted. The term is widely used to discribe any "protective shell" , other than the windscreen, that covers or partially covers a vehicle.

My attempt was to assertain which type the OP was refering to. I had a "Cafe fairing" on my RD400 that was basicly the same type denny posted on. My FJR has a "fairing" ...that encloses most of the front of the bike...with an adjustable windscreen on top.

From what I have seen....the word "fairing" can refer to any opaque? part of a windsceen. so color me confused too here....as National Cycle calls their windscreen with lowers the "Plexifairing" 3..and the one without lowers is called the Plexistar 2...(not the plexifairing 2 as some have mistakenly refered to it)

All I do know, in general , if you are talking motorcycles, and say a bike has a "fairing", you are talking about something that is NOT a clear tombstone type windscreen or something that amounts to the same thing.

I guess if you get enough folks improperly using a term, it in some ways becomes accepted.
