FINALLY!

Got a battery for the bike, and got to ride it today for the first time...of course...I had to drain the gas tank, and unclog the petcock first to get it to start, and probably will have to again, until I can really clean the tank out, but it was fun to finally get to ride the damn thing...seems like its lacking alot of power, though, but the bike definately needs some new plugs, so thats more than likely the problem. I cant wait to get this thing (and myself haha) ready for the road.

Have you tried Sea Foam, either in the gas or full strength in the carbs?

Well, the carbs are brand new, and we got most of the rust out of the tank, and petcock..gonna have to do it a couple more times, though.

I have a new problem now...not a big deal, but damn sure an inconvenience....the fuel line cracked, and I hadnt noticed, and lost half a tank of gas on the road, and then had to push the bike about a mile back to my house.....there were small hills on the way..easy fix though. Gonna replace the lines tomorrow, HOPEFULLY the plugs, and then clean the tank out some more.

Unless you like pulling the carbs, I would suggest going ahead and cleaning the tank out so it doesn't keep clogging the petcock/carbs. There are many ways to do it; you can search "tank cleaning" here and should get several hits. You could also add small inline fuel filters, but there isn't a lot of room for them.

Yeah, I have the tank pulled off, with gas and oil in it, now. Ive been going out and shaking it all up every now and then, and the petcock is soaking in gas. Im gonna let it sit over night and then take it to work tomorrow and blow out what I can, with an air gun. We had the bike running pretty decent today, felt like it had a bit more GO..but after that it had starting, and idling issues. Ill see how well she does tomorrow, I guess. Shouldnt have anymore issues after this...if so, Im just gonna pull the carbs and check them.

Thanks for all the input though. Its much appreciated.
