Last year I lubed my splines. Yay that I wasn't one of the unlucky few with rust welded splines. I swear that this must have been when the problem started; after a few rides my rear rim and wheel gets splattered with the black shmutz. I'm pretty sure it's Moly because I think I may have lubed back there too much. Also I've checked the rear diff oil level twice over the last two years and it hasn't changed...still full to the brim. So I'm thinking this rules out the final drive seal (it's a rare thing to go from what I've read, but also it's very tricky tro replace). The second pic also looks very grey and silvery...like Moly?

I’m think I read on here about a teaspoon and and a half to two teaspoons is enough for the job. I had my mechanic do mine and I neglected to share that detail with him. He was liberal with it as well.

Did you replace the O-ring when you lubed the shaft?

If it's missing, might be part of the reason the moly is coming out.
