I believe it's a 1500.

The ad says 1988 VN750. I don't think they even made a 1500 back then? Cylinders look kind of small for a 1500 as well.

I have no idea what it is.... so, take it for what it's worth. LOL!

Dang, never knew they made such a beast! What years were those things made? Are they significantly faster than a VN750?
It's a tad more 'Harley' than a VN750, but not a whole lot. :)

I think from 96 to around 02 could be wrong, what does a tad more "Harley" mean anyhow? Is this a bad thing, after all if Harley hadn't sold so many Sportsters there probably wouldn't be any sporty Japanese v-twin cruisers cruisers .Being a bike snob goes both ways,I don't care if it's a Cushman scooter, I can find something to like about almost any bike.:smiley_th

Yup, 1500. I doubt they made them up to '02 though. The Kawi 1500 in '02 started the Mean Streaks. There's the classic too of course but I doubt Kawi made 3 different 1500s that year. Although stranger things have happened.

They're not significantly faster than the 750 in a quarter mile because no cruiser Kawi ever made is. But it'll likely pack the 750's lunch in the long haul having twice the displacement.

To clarify that, the Vulcan 750 is faster than any one of them ....other than the meanie:

1500 Mean Streak 13.76/95.6
VN750 13.98/93.1
800A 14.00/93.6
800 Classic 14.34/89.9
1500 Drifter 14.56/88.9
1500 Nomad FI 15.49/88.1
800 Drifter 14.56/88.9
1500 Classic FI 14.98/88.7
1500 Classic (carb) 15.03/85.3

So, is the 1500 in the photo is by far, the slowest?

Looks like (after some googlin') that 95 was the last year for the BUBF.

1500's also came in Nomad and Drifter versions too.

^ So that's 4 1500's Kawi makes: the classic, drifter, nomad, and meanie. Interesting.

Yup, I'd say so. Even the 800's got him beat.

that chart doesn't include the 1500 A,B,C models which were dual carbed and overhead cammed like the 750,shane is probably right about when they were last made, they were 4speeds and 9.1 to 1 compression,as opposed to the 750's around 10to 1 the best info is on the vroc site concerning bubf's

That's exactly what it looks like to me - a VN750 on steroids. Can't say as if I've recognized any on the road, though.

Awfully surprised it didn't get any bids, though. With no reserve, someone could have picked it up for a song.
