...after the old Chuck Berry song cause just like the song She won't be true. She's started doing that same thing with the carbs again.

I was out riding this morning and stopped on my way home for a cup of java. She started fine but then died about 2 blocks down the street and I had trouble starting her. When I got her started just like last time she runs rough and won't idle. I wonder if it's electrical and not carburation? Any ideas?

Nope. The guy I bought her from had all the original paperwork. She came from a dealership here in Jersey.

Ron, they can sell the California bikes anywhere, I bought mine (new 06) from a dealer in Tenn.... If you remove the seat or maybe just pull back and up on the front and see a red & a blue sticker or 2 lines coming out of the gas tank it is a Cal. bike...

Sounds like it could also be the phantom out of gas syndrome. Do a search on this site and get some info on it. Is the tank about full when this happens? Try opening up the gas cap and starting her up. It could be the gas cap vent is clogged.

Dog. She's not a CA bike. The tank has only one vent tube.

Good, it just acted exactly as mine did, and thats how I found out it was a Cal. bike... One vent tube, no Cal. bike... Then it would probably be as rubyrick has suggested...
