if i take off the goats belly, how loud will it be??

it will be louder, but that is all in a point of refference as to how loud. it wont sound like a harley if that is what your wanting... if that is your goal, chunk the system from past the headers. do an H pipe with Dyna mufflers...

I yook mine off and took out the baffels out and took out the metal discs in the chrome canister took a straight pipe and ran it from the header through the chrome canister out other end of the chrome pipe with a short turn down pipe and now I scare the crap out of those hardly abelson guys.

if you just degoat it is louder, but it sounds like a loud lawnmower. with the dyna mufflers it will sound alot better (louder but better tone kinda like a rumble) you can get them on ebay for around $30 and get the scootworks bypass kit for about $70 (the kit fits good and less chance of leaks if done correctly pluss they hold up better that flex pipe). alot better sound for $100.
i just put on a set of V/H cruisers (thanks Mark) gosh is it louder with great sound. what i did notice that at 50mph or better cruising speed the sound is no louder that stock, but from 0 to 50, they know you are coming. it sounds like a bike should IMHO.

lol.... no i still can... i at least gave warning afterwards . I think that is what she did. IIRC she used flex on one side, and strait pipe on the other....

But if you want a good job, take it to a muffler shop. they can do the whole H pipe for the same cost as scootworks kit. and you can have them get it to where the Dyna mufflers will fit right and arent jb welded in place...LOL.

If you want good tone, drill eight 3/8" holes in the back of the exhaust. Mine sounds sweet, like a cruiser should, and even burbles when I decel. Although I tried, I just can't get it to backfire anymore. I really wanted to hear it with the new sound.

i just degoated a few weeks ago and i am happy i did. its not too loud but its definitely louder upon accelerating. i am happy with the way it sounds. plus i am cheap and didn't want to buy cruzers which i really want. cost me about $20 to do it myself with flexpipe. wasn't very hard.

What Dianna did was...
Put the Goat's belly back on and added a pipe to bring both Dyna mufflers out to the same length.
The bike was just too loud with the goat's belly gone and the 27" fishtail mufflers.
Now it has a nice deep healthy tone and not a bit of popping either!

Also one advantage of having the goat's belly is the mufflers are balanced. If you take it off, I'd reccommend an H pipe at least.
