Here is some information from earlier posts. Some have mounted pegs to the engine guard (see stargazers post below) This should get you started.

Here's one place:

They come with the pegs and, I think, look better. I can attest to their strength, too. Slid 50' on one side and it didn't bend a bit.

But I'm still looking hard at those 28" ones ....

Either way, the Kaw one must go

Well hopefully this decade this message will post.

The engine guard is the Kawi Fire & Steel one. The Hiway pegs I got the idea from Jax - Kuryakyn Right Angle Mount with 1" clamps, #4507. $129.95 a pair. With shipping $134.95.
I posted some new misc pixs under the MISC folder in my picture album

If you want an engine guard for your 750, Paul at
www.rongreenesportscenter.com said he can get genuine Kawi part for $75.00 + shipping. in my case shipping was $8.00. He also said and I quote "If you want to go to www.buykawasaki.com , they have a few items and I can get you prices that are a little friendlier to the old pocketbook." Just thought I would pass this info on. Brett

Here are pictures of the 2 types of crash bars that
were available for our bikes.

The smaller loop one on the VN700 is the only one
available from www.accessoryinternational.com

On Starman's website are pictures and part numbers for
the Kuryakyn footpegs that he mounted to his engine
guard.

Re: Highway Bars - knifemaker mod

"Knifemaker" came up with his own design and I believe you can get most of the materials from HomeDepot or Lowes. I'm going to be doing this myself here shortly. Here's the latest thread from the yahoo vn750 group regarding this:

Thank you. I was going to make my own but why redesign the wheel? Your design is just right in it's simplicity.

Off to Home Depot ......

The Wingerline Crashbars WooHoo mentioned above are the ones that I ordered, months ago. They did finally catch up and mine arrived today! They look great...now I just have to figure out how to get them on!

You can see a few photos of the crashbar mounted up in my photo album. Look in the Crashbar and Floorboards ones. If you want more pics let me know and I can get some for you.

Does anyone know of any highway bars that are meant for other bikes that could fit ours or that could fit with slight adjustments? I'm looking for something a bit bigger than the one available. Or does anyone know of a metel shop that would be able to make a custom one?

Thanks,

Wow, bringing back a 6 year old post just to ask a question...good work Hutch.

As far as I know, there are no bars meant for other bikes that will work....without some measuring , welding, and re-chroming.

The "Wingerline" bars from Highway Hawk are the largest I know of, and I am not sure they still even offer them for sale.

Perhaps someone with more info on them will chime in.

That is why I make mounting plates for putting highway pegs on. They do not make a bar anymore.
Link in Sig line for floorboards will get you to highway pegs also.
