Pretty cool. Keep us informed on the build. I'm thinking of doing something like that with the 91 I just picked up.

I'll give you credit for taking the leap, and you're on to a making a personalized ride, which is great. BUT, and it'a as big a but as my azz, don't sacrifice basic safety for "I like it". By that I mean the handlebars. If you don't have full lock-to-lock ability without slapping the tank, you're asking for trouble. In every build, the goal is to improve, not compromise. Reducing your steering control just because it looks or feels cool is about as smart as using brakes from a mountain bike to get a "clean" look like some of the old-school choppers. That being said, the OEM mini-apes aren't that great for control. either. I swapped mine out for Triumph bars with more spread and less pull back. Lot's more control. If you swap out the hand controls for Honda or old Triumph units you can get a lower than stock look and still clear the tank. Good luck, and don't stop til it's done, the world doesn't need another VN750 rat bike!

thank your sirs!
for the tail lights, im going to relocated them by the plates, maybe just build a bracket or something instead of buying the ones on ebay.

thanks CuriousGeorge for the concern and info. ill check on that. ill prolly try the clip on bars and see if they will fit nicely and clear the tank.

So far, i get compliments at parking lots and red lights. I usually get the question "what kind of bike is that?" or just the thumbs up

I really like it. Im doing a similar change with my 95. I was looking at using the Flanders superbike bars in order to clear the tank. They have a 2.5" rise and some pullback but that seems like the best approach. Great job on yours. be safe.
